The 2022 Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings have been released, with Harvard University being placed at the top spot for the fifth consecutive year.
Stanford University claims the second spot, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)in third place, Yale University in fourth place and Duke University in fifth place. The top five positions have retained the same positions as last year and nine of last years top 10 are back and so are 19 of last years top 20.
Of the top 20 schools overall, only two among all did not make it to the top 20 for academic resources and the other two are ranked 21st and 26th for resources this year.

The WSJ/THE rankings are created based on 15 factors under four major categories. 40% of the schools overall score comes from student outcomes, 30% from academic resources, 20% from student engagement and 10% from the learning environment.
The rankings also measure the best value among the top 250 schools, which is based on every institutions score by net price. By this, the top school is the City College of New York, the flagship of the public City University of New York (CUNY) system.
