As an undergrad, I went to Stanford where I earned my Bachelor of Arts with Honors in African & African-American Studies and Comparative Literature. When I’m not busy in my department, I work at the Writing Center as a Writing Associate, and love helping students learn how to express themselves!

    I'm a full-time writer of fiction and essays who's passionate about teaching and mentoring. I studied Comparative Literature and Creative Writing at Princeton University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with High Honors, then went on to get my MFA in Fiction at Brooklyn College. As a Princeton-in-Asia fellow, I taught literature at a Thai university before returning to the states to teach writing in a college setting. My work appears regularly in magazines and journals, and has been recognized with national fellowships, government grants, and literary awards. I love helping students express their stories and selves on the page!

    I completed my undergraduate and master’s degrees at Dartmouth College, where I studied the role of music in cultures around the world. Since 2010, I have released five full-length albums, and have performed across the U.S. and internationally. The arts have opened doors to some exciting experiences, like performing at the Kennedy Center and delivering two TEDx Talks. I love guiding students in crafting their story and finding their unique voice!

I am a Michener Fellow, winner of the 2014 KCACTF TYA Prize, finalist for the Terrence McNally Prize and the recipient of an Interact 20/20 Commission.

    I am a theatre director, writer, and educator originally from New York City. I hold a B.A. with Honors in English Literature and Theatre Arts & Performance Studies from Brown University, where I received the Robinson Potter Dunn Premium for Excellence in Rhetoric and English Composition. Since 2012, I've tutored students in NYC, focusing on essay writing, literary analysis, and standardized testing. Currently, I'm pursuing my MFA in Directing at Yale School of Drama where I also run a playwriting program for New Haven high schoolers. I love helping students develop their own passion for storytelling!
