The University of Texas at Arlington offers different scholarship opportunities to its incoming freshmen students, which have been outlined below.

Presidential Honors Scholarships

The Presidential Honors Scholarship is offered to the academically highest-achieving incoming freshmen. The university will be offering the Presidential Honors Scholar with a USD 12,000 per year award or a USD 48,000 over the span of 4 years, provided they are eligible. However, they will need to satisfy the following criteria for the Presidential Honors Scholarship at the University of Texas at Arlington:

  • They should be classed within the top 10% of their Class.

  • They should also have secured a minimum of 3.95 cumulative unweighted high school GPA or higher.

  • Additionally, a 1450 score in the SATs or a 33 score in ACTs will also be required.

Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship is offered to incoming students who display outstanding academic performance. The university will be offering the Presidential Scholar with a USD 10,000 per year award or a USD 40,000 over the span of 4 years if they are eligible. Interested students must qualify for the Presidential Scholarship at the University of Texas at Arlington:

  • They should be classed within the top 25% of their Class.

  • They should also have secured a minimum of 3.8 cumulative unweighted high school GPA or higher.

  • Additionally, a 1350 score in the SATs or a 30 score in ACTs will also be required.

Maverick Academic Scholarship

The Maverick Academic Scholarship is offered to the academically highest-achieving incoming freshmen. The university will be offering the Maverick Scholar with an award ranging between USD 2,000 to USD 8,000 per year award which can be renewed over a span of 3 years. Those interested must meet two of the following three eligibility criteria for the Maverick Academic Scholarship at the University of Texas at Arlington:

  • They should be classed within the top 50% of their Class.

  • They should also have secured a minimum of 3.5 cumulative unweighted high school GPA or higher.

  • Additionally, an 1100 score in the SATs or a 22 score in ACTs will also be required. The test scores will only be considered if they improve their chances.

Students eligible for the scholarship award will receive the highest amount according to their academic credentials as well as the available funds.

Note: Added to these scholarship awards, the scholarships also include a non-resident tuition waiver, where the tuition and fees applicable will be brought down to the level paid by Texan students, provided they are able to maintain their academic prowess.

It should also be noted that while the academic proficiency of a student will get them considered for the scholarship, however, the consideration does not necessarily result in an award.
