Things to Keep in Mind During SAT Registration 2023

Here's all you need to know and keep in mind before you carry out the SAT registration process in 2023:

Find Out When the SAT Exam is Available

Verify the SAT dates for the upcoming academic year. Remember to factor in the SAT registration deadline for each exam date. (There is a deadline, as well as extra expenses for late registration!)

Decide if You Will be Taking the SAT with Essay

The SAT essay is optional, but if you do wish to take it, you must register for the ‘SAT with Essay’ rather than the ‘SAT without Essay’. Several institutions require the SAT essay, therefore we urge you to sign up for it.

Consider Your Schedule!

You can take the SAT beginning freshman year, although we recommend that students begin preparing for the SAT in the spring/summer before junior year. You may also be required to take SAT Subject Tests (many selective colleges require them.) The SAT and SAT Subject Tests cannot be taken on the same day. Make a timetable of which tests you will take and when.

Choose a Test Date and Register for the SAT

Sign up for the SAT as soon as you know when you'll be taking it. If you wait until the last minute to register, there may be no available spaces in nearby testing facilities.

Important Things to Keep in Mind

For the SAT and SAT Subject Tests, you can register online at the College Board website or by mail using the form in the Student Registration Handbook. If you need to register on paper, simply contact your school counsellor for a copy of the booklet.

You are solely responsible for SAT registration. Your parents or school counsellor are unable to register you. When entering your information (full name, address, etc.), be sure it matches precisely what is on your picture ID.

You can choose to use The College Board's Student Search Service. It is free, but in order to participate, you must answer certain questions about yourself, such as your GPA or desired college degree.

Colleges and scholarship organisations can then use the information they supply to find students (and send them info about their programmes).

You must provide a photo of yourself for identification reasons. Be prepared to pay SAT registration fees. The SAT costs USD 46 and the SAT with Essay costs USD 60. Fee exemptions are available for low-income 11th and 12th-grade students.
