Overview

University of Adelaide, established in 1874, is the third-oldest university in Australia. It has four main campuses, three in South Australia and one in Melbourne. It is a well-known public research university in Australia that ranks in the top 1% of the university in the world and is also a part of the Group of Eight (Go8) universities of Australia. Further, the university is a member of Academia Consortium 21 which is an association of 20 research-intensive universities. The University of Adelaide has consistently been acknowledged as a pioneer and regular host of the Lecture series. Furthermore, it is home to 25,000 students, out of which 30% are international students creating a diverse community spanning more than 100 nationalities.

University of Adelaide offers Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees through its five faculties, namely, Faculty of Engineering, Computer & Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, Faculty of the Professions, Faculty of Sciences, and Faculty of Arts. The university is popular for its medicine and science courses, with three Nobel laureate alumni graduating from these disciplines: William Lawrence Bragg, Howard Florey, and Robin Warren. It also has Wirltu Yarlu, which engages with aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and students, for research and academic purposes. In 1972, the university launched its first formal course in the Center for Aboriginal Studies in Music (CASM). The university also has specialized campuses, which offer only selected courses. These campuses include National Wine Center, Thebarton, and Ngee Ann in Singapore.
