According to Australian High Commissioner Barry O'Farrell, international students, especially Indian students, would have no problem getting work in Australia. The High Commissioner added that with the extension of the post-study work visa for international students, job seekers will have an easier time finding work throughout their studies.
The High Commissioner revealed that international students constitute a necessary talent pool in Australia, particularly for temporary work.
The Australian government has decided to phase out unrestricted working hours for international students. Despite the reintroduction of a work-hour limit, the post-study stay was prolonged.

International students will be able to work for 48 hours each fortnight beginning July 1, 2023, according to the Australian Home Ministry. The government had reduced the work hour limit due to the COVID-19 pandemic since the country was suffering a serious labour shortage.
The Australian Government has reinstated the quota so that international students may sustain themselves while completing their primary purpose of going to Australia, which is their education.
Students should be aware that, according to the Australian Home Ministry, this post-study work visa extension will be granted only to individuals with specific degrees and in industries where there is a talent shortage. If they are granted, their Temporary Graduate Visa will be extended for another two years.
Bachelor's degrees would be extended for two to four years. Master's degrees would be extended for three to five years, while Doctorate degrees would be extended for four to six years.
The Australian High Commissioner also remarked that the post-study work visa extension would be beneficial, especially for STEM students. He further told that the extension would allow students to look for jobs and get experience in their fields.
