After the shutdown of the country because of the COVID-19 outbreak, China has recently declared that visa restrictions on foreigners would be lifted. According to sources, the People's Republic of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today, March 14, 2023, that the government will resume providing visas to international tourists, students, and others.
The Chinese government's decision will tremendously help Indian students. Those who had to return home and put their study on hold owing to visa constraints and COVID lockdowns, in particular. According to immigration officials, the visa application regulations will go into force from March 15, 2023, onwards.

According to an AFP report, in addition to reviewing and approving new visas, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has announced that visas granted before March 28, 2020, if still valid, can be used to enter China.
According to an official announcement published by the Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry, all types of visas will be issued beginning Wednesday, March 15, 2023. The decision was taken to 'ease cross-border travel,' according to the statement.
The revised visa policy in China will also try to restore visa-free travel for people arriving on cruise ships in Shanghai, as well as select tourist groups from Hong Kong, Macau, and ASEAN member countries.

The Chinese Ambassador to India announced a year ago that Indian students will be permitted to continue their studies in China shortly.
