Over the years, more and more students have been opting to study abroad, especially after those passing out of Class 12. This change in direction has been recognised by the Chief Minister of Goa, who had praised the decision of students at a state-organised webinar on Sunday, 1st August 2021.
In his statements, CM Pramod Sawant found it heartening to see an 'increasing' number of Goan students opting to study abroad to pursue higher education, 'even their graduate studies'.
Addressing the students, CM Sawant added that the BA, B.Com B.Sc, MBBS and Engineering are not the only options available to Class 12 passouts. He urged students to choose from the wide range of courses available in Goa, other Indian states as well as abroad. He further expressed his pride in learning that more and more students had opted to study abroad.

The Chief Minister’s Office and the Directorate of Higher Education had organised the online webinar to enlighten the students on the different career options available to them apart from the obvious general options opted by most students. He also urged the students to communicate with their parents and teachers before deciding on a career path. CM Sawant had also highlighted the option of entrepreneurship to students for those who did not wish to pursue a job.

While congratulating the students who successfully cleared the Class 12 board exams, CM Sawant encouraged those students who were unable to clear their exams, to not be disheartened by the results. He highlighted that supplementary exams were being held for these students which will offer them another chance to clear their exams.
