Established in 1894, the City, University of London is a public research university situated in London, United Kingdom. With a very high research output, City University London is one of the leading international universities in the UK. The university is not only committed to academic excellence but also focused on practical knowledge and business. The QS World University Ranking 2021 of City, University of London is 350. City, University of London has also achieved a Silver award in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), a UK government initiative that encourages the enhancement of quality in teaching and learning at higher educational institutes. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

City, University of London is a world-class university located at the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world, London. The university campus has state of the art facilities, buildings and airy spaces. The campus has 24 hours digital access, spacious study spaces, community spaces for club, societies and students’ union. Cafes and coffee shops are available within the campus. City, University of London has five different schools: City Law School; School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering; School of Arts & Social Sciences; School of Health Sciences and Cass Business School. Together, these schools offer Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees along with certificate and diploma programmes.

The university’s alumni network includes more than 140,000 students from 180 different countries. Some of the popular names include Mahatma Gandhi, who led the Indian Independence Movement, Tony Blair, Labour Party Prime Minister of the UK from 1997 to 2007. Both of them were graduates from the Inns of Court School of Law (now part of The City Law School). City, University of London is committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and aims to become neutral by 2040. It is placed in the list of top-ranked universities in the world by Times Higher Education Impact rankings and is recognised worldwide for its research work and activities associated with sustainable development. 

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

With a total student strength of almost 20,000 students, City University London has international students from different parts of the world. The university has over 250 Indian students and staff members from about 75 countries. 46 per cent of the total student population of City University London are pursuing postgraduate degree programmes. A wide range of opportunities is available for students of City, the University of London throughout the year in the city. Moreover, the university conducts events and volunteering opportunities for students while they study at the university. COVID-19 Response 

As the world copes with the pandemic across the globe, the City University of London has implemented certain strategies to ensure the safety and health of the students. Students enrolled at the university will be participating in online classes instead of in-person classes.

  • City, University of London is following the guidelines as defined by the UK Government, Public Health England, the NHS and the London Coronavirus Response Cell to manage COVID-19.  

  • City, University of London campus will remain open during the Term to offer in-person teaching for some courses and for students to access some spaces within the campus. 

  • Social Distancing norms will be implemented for courses that require on-campus attendance.

  • Face Masks will be compulsory for all students and staff at the City, University of London campus.

  • Campus facilities, equipment and buildings will be extensively cleaned and sanitised. Air Conditioning units will be switched to fresh air instead of recirculating air. Windows will be opened wherever possible.

  • Student support services will be operable in online mode via Zoom, or other communication software and technology.

Note: Further decisions related to on-campus teaching and the return of international students from around the world will depend on the success of the vaccination programme executed by the UK Government.  The vaccination programme in the UK is being carried out successfully and only when the government feels safe to move to the next step, the final decision related to full on-campus activities will be taken by the City, University of London.

INTO Academic Achievement International Foundation Progression Scholarship

INTO Academic Achievement International Foundation Progression Scholarship Programme is available for students studying in the INTO City, University of London foundation pathway programme. It is the highest performing award for students under the International Foundation Programme.

It is awarded to outstanding students heading towards the undergraduate degree programme after completing the pathways programme. A total of 15 scholarships are awarded under this scholarship programme which is divided as follows:

  • Six scholarships are awarded to students progressing in the Business School.

  • Four scholarships are awarded to students progressing in the School of Arts and Social Sciences.

  • Three scholarships are awarded to students progressing in the School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering

  • Two scholarships are awarded to students enrolled progressing to City Law School.

Eligible Criteria for INTO Academic Achievement International Foundation Progression Scholarship

  • The student must have good grades in the International Foundation Programme.

  • The applicant must be an international student.

  • The candidate must not hold any other scholarships.

How to Apply for INTO Academic Achievement International Foundation Progression Scholarship? 

Students must fill in the online application form available on the official website of City, University of London to be considered for the Academic Achievement International Foundation Progression Scholarship.

The documents need while applying for the scholarship is as follows: 

  • Offer Letter

  • Academic Transcript 

  • Proof of English Language Proficiency

  • Personal Statement

Value: £3,000. The scholarship is awarded in the form of a tuition fee discount for undergraduate studies. 

Cass Business School International Scholarship

Cass Business School International Scholarship is a scholarship available for international students who are enrolled in Business School of City, University of London. And meet the requirement as mentioned in the offer letter. A total of 20 scholarships are available under this category. 

Eligible Criteria for Cass Business School International Scholarship

The general eligibility criteria to receive the Cass Business School International Scholarship are as follows:

  • The candidate must be an international student

  • Must be enrolled in the first year of undergraduate study in September 2021 Term at  Business School of City, University of London.

  • Must meet the minimum academic requirements as mentioned in the offer letter.

  • Must confirm enrollment at City, the University of London through UCAS by June 10th, 2021.

  • International students with  A-level or International Baccalaureate qualifications are not eligible for the scholarship. 

Value:  

The scholarship covers 25% of the tuition fee i.e  £4,875. The scholarship is awarded to students who pay the overseas fees at the Business School for undergraduate courses. 

The scholarship is available for students who will be enrolled in their first year in September 2021 and will be awarded in the form of a discount on the first year’s tuition fees. 

How to Apply for Cass Business School International Scholarship 2021/ 2022? 

The university will directly contact students who will submit the application for admissions at City, University of London- Business School by 29th January 2021 to apply for the scholarship. The new application form for the scholarship must be submitted by 11th June 2021. The application for 2021 will be accepted for students applying for the Fall 2021 Term.

City Star Scholarship

City Star Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship offered to students who are enrolled in a postgraduate engineering degree at City, University of London. It is automatically offered to students as per the previous academic achievements of students.

Students enrolled in one of the following courses at City, University of London are eligible to receive the City Star Scholarship

  • M.Sc Civil Engineering Structures

  • M.Sc Advanced Mechanical Engineering

The scholarship amount granted as per academic achievements is as follows

  • First Class Honours: 35% discount on tuition fee. 

  • Upper- Second Class Honours: 30% discount on tuition fee. 

  • Lower-second Class Honours: 25% discount on tuition fee. 

How to Apply for a City Star Scholarship? 

There is no need to fill in a separate application for City Star Scholarship. Students enrolled in engineering programmes at City, University of London are automatically considered for a scholarship.
