The US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that for the financial year 2024 which begins on October 1, the H-1B visa cap has been reached with all successful applicants being informed about it.
In a statement released by the federal agency on Monday, it was declared that it has received enough electronic registrations during the initial period to reach the H-1B numerical allocations or H-1B cap for the fiscal year 2024. It also includes the advanced degree exemption-the master’s cap.
Presently the annual regular cap for the H-1B category is set by the US Congress at 65,000. Out of this, 6,800 visas are set aside according to the terms of legislation as per the free trade agreements between U.S. Chille and U.S. Singapore. The unused visas in this category get available for H-1B visa use for the next fiscal year’s regular H-1B visa cap.
