Pasadena City College, or PCC, is a public community college located in the city of Pasadena, California. It was founded in the year 1924 as Pasadena Junior College and operated as such till 1954 when it merged with John Muir College and became Pasadena City College. It was created in response to the need of the community for higher education facilities and was one of the earliest junior colleges to be established in the Southwest United States. Pasadena City College has been accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It is an institutional accrediting body which is recognised by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The campus of Pasadena City College is quite vast and comprises several marvellous infrastructural highlights. Apart from the main campus, PCC also has a Community Education Centre, a satellite campus, and a Child Development Centre which is dedicated to the community of PCC and its children. The college has a Colorado campus, a Foothill campus, a campus at Rosemead, and also in Northwest Pasadena. Each campus of Pasadena City College is equipped with all the modern facilities and educational aid. A wide range of courses are offered at PCC which include all the major streams like STEM, Business and Industry, Liberal Arts, Health and Wellness Sciences, Social Behavioural Sciences, Arts, Community and Design, etc. PCC provides the best pedagogy and ensures that students are given world-class education in every discipline.
