Graduates of Australian universitiies have been ranked as highly satisfying employees by theEmployer Satisfaction Survey of Australia2021. The peak body of higher praised the hard work of universities and their studnets forthis result.
In the 2021 survey, 85.3% of direct supervisors of graduates were satisfied with their skills in comparison to 84.7% in 2020.The focus of the survey was interdependency of skills and knowledge acquired through education by the graduates and their capabilities to satisfy the requirements posed by their job profiles.
Catriona Jackson, Universities Australia CEO, statedthat the result shows the dedication of universities in training competent graduates even in the middle of a global pandemic. He further added that the endorsement of direct supervisors shows the authenticity of the skills and competency of the graduates.

Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia, the peak body for independent providers, stated that independent providers enjoy higher satisfaction levels at 88.4% as compared to the public universities at 85%.
Troy Williams, ITECA CEO, stated that in light of the need for a skilled and competent workforce it is pleasing that independent providers are fulfilling the needs of industry and market across both higher education and vocational training sectors. He further added that the required excellence is being completed by the graduates and this shows that institutions are providing job-ready knowledge and experience.

Technical skills recorded a satisfaction of 93.7%, foundational skills capped at 93.5%, adaptive skills recorded 90.3%, teamwork and interpersonal skills made 89.3% and employability skills earned themselves a satisfaction rate of 86.6%.
