The University of Hawaii at Manoa was founded in 1907 as the College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts under the Morrill Act as a land grant. It achieved its university status in 1920 with the addition of the College of Arts and Sciences. The university is located in Honolulu, the capital and largest city of Hawaii, USA. COVID-19 Response 

The latest update on the teaching & learning programmes for the upcoming academic session at the University of Hawaii at Manoa is as follows:

  • The Fall Term at the UH Manoa will soon begin and the classes are likely to begin in a mix of in-person, online, and hybrid formats. The university is hopeful to increase the number of in-person classes for the Fall term.

  • Students aspiring to participate in the on-campus and in-person activities, including accessing student accommodation are required to be fully vaccinated by any one of the vaccines listed on the WHO Emergency Use List with the assessment status of 'finalised'. Those unable to receive their vaccines before arriving at Hawai’i will receive opportunities to be vaccinated once they have landed in the state.

  • As the COVID-19 vaccination is at pace, UH Manoa is hopeful to allow all its students, faculty, and staff to return to campus.

  • UH, Manoa shall continue to provide additional safety measures to protect its students, faculty, and staff from infection. Apart from the general safety measures like the use of masks, sanitization, personal hygiene, and cleaning, the university has also included surveillance testing and testing wastewater from the student housing complexes for COVID-19.
