There are multiple financial aid options available for US citizens studying at Hofstra University. The university has provided over USD 100 million as financial aid to undergraduate students, which includes student loans as well as fee waivers.
However, financial aid options open for international students are comparatively limited.
Undergraduate students at Hofstra University are only eligible for merit-based scholarships. Candidates who wish to apply for these scholarships must submit their ACT and SAT test scores for admissions.
International students enrolled in postgraduate courses at Hofstra University can take care of the multiple graduate employment opportunities open for students within the campus, in addition to the merit-based scholarships. Students can join assistantships, take up positions as resident directors or tutors to help fund their study without having to leave the campus. Once a student has enrolled in a postgraduate programme, the university’s Office of Student Employment can be contacted for information about such positions and how to join them.
International PG students can also apply for merit-based scholarships. Candidates can obtain information about these scholarships, including amount, eligibility, renewal criteria etc. by contacting their department or Dean’s office.
While these options are left open, Hofstra University recommends international students to look for sources of third-party financial aid for their education. Students are advised to look for options such as organisations that provide merit-based or need-based scholarships to higher education aspirants or student loan options that are available to them in their own country.
