The University of Arkansas was founded in 1871 as a land grant institution in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It is also referred to as the U of A. It is a public research university and the flagship of the University of Arkansas System. The university is accredited to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The University of Arkansas is one of the top-ranked universities in the United States. U of A encourages ideas and innovations to find solutions for real-world problems. Its collaboration with organisations around the globe makes it an academically and economically strong university. The University of Arkansas campus is located in the hilly northwest corner of Arkansas. The aesthetic environment in and around the campus makes it an apt place for studying and living. The countrys most spectacular hiking trails are within a short distance of campus. The city of Fayetteville is one of the best places to live in the United States. U of A has 10 Schools & Colleges to offer more than 210 academic programs. The courses offered include 99 Undergraduate Majors, 91 Masters degree programs, 36 Doctoral and specialist programs and 33 graduate certificate programs.
