Established in the year 2000, Galway Business School is one of the top third-level colleges in Ireland. The institute has learner protection for enrolled students on QQI validated courses in accordance with the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012. The private business school was set up by the Galway Cultural Institute (GCI), which offers English language courses and provides learner protection for its learners. In 2006, GBS was made a recognised FETAC course provider and in 2014, its Business degree programme got accredited by QQI. The institute has also been granted the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021-227 quality certificate.

Galway Business School, located in Salthill, boasts a remarkable location right above the Galway Bay and Atlantic Ocean. Students undertake company visits to leading companies like EA Games, SAP, Galway Greyhound Track, Jameson, Connacht Rugby,and Google. Many of GBS graduates find positions in these companies upon graduation. COVID-19 Response
In order to protect the Galway community from Covid-19 and combat the spread of the virus, the Galway Business School has taken measures in accordance with public health guidelines issued by the government of Ireland. It is currently in the recovery phase.
Vaccinations against Covid-19 in Ireland began on December 29, 2020. International students in Ireland may register for the same.
All international students arriving from high-risk countries should undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine.
Courses are being taught in a blended mode, which is a combination of online classes and face-to-face learning.
Third level students who are currently studying from their home countries can apply for the Third Level Graduate Scheme once they have successfully completed their course.
