The son of a transport operator from Jharkhand has secured a scholarship to study a course in Computer Science and International Business at a leading US liberal arts college, Juniata College. Anjan Kumar, a class 12 student of DBMS Kadma High School, has been awarded an annual scholarship of over USD 50,000.
Overall, Anjan will receive annual scholarships of over USD 54,336, of which USD25,000 is the Juniata scholarship, USD 19,336 is Juniata Grant and USD 10,000 will be sponsored by theNext Genius Foundation, Mumbai. Anjan said he applied to several universities in the US and got admission letters from some of them. He appeared for various levels of scholarship examinations.

For the next three years, Anjan will study at a college in Pennsylvania under the Next Genius scholarship programme. The scholarship scheme involves 20 colleges. One student receives a 100% scholarship from each college, and the other students get partial scholarships.
The Next Genius Foundation was established in 2014 to identify and connect promising young individuals with scholarship opportunities in the US. Anjan attributed his academic success to the help of his parents. He passed the Class X examination with an impressive score of 88 per cent.

The teachers and administrators of the school are happy with Anjans achievements. Principal Gurpreet Singh Bhambra congratulated him on behalf of the school.
