Germany has launched the Job Seeker Visa for immigrants wishing to work in Germany. The long-term visa will allow immigrants to enter Germany without an employment offer to seek job opportunities in the country.
The visa holders shall be able to stay in Germany for up to six months while searching for employment opportunities. On finalising an employment contract, they can apply for a German work permit and PR visa.
When applying for a German PR visa, the Job Seeker visa holder will have to provide details of a finalised job offer that they are slated to join and relevant details.

Germany Job Seeker Visa Eligibility Criteria
To apply for a German Job Seeker Visa, the applicant must:

Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a German university or its equivalent foreign university,

At least five-year work experience in the relevant field,

Funds enough to sustain their stay in Germany while seeking employment, and
-
Travel and/or Medical insurance cover for six months or until Work Permit visa issuance.
Document Checklist to Apply for Job Seeker Visa
Before applying for a German Job Seeker Visa, the applicant needs to compile the following documents:

Passport, which is valid for at least 12 months after the scheduled return and has been issued within the previous 10 years,

Copy of passport’s data page,

3 Passport size pictures as per biometric specifications,

Cover Letter explaining objective, working plan to seek employment, and alternative career plans,

Academic Transcripts of all qualifications,

CV,

Accommodation in Germany during the job hunt,

Proof of funds in form of:

Verpflichtungserklärung (formal obligation letter) sponsored by a German permanent resident,

Bank Account Statement, or

Blocked Bank Account

Home country’s residential status and relevant proof, such as Birth Certificate, and

Note: The Consulate Officer may ask for additional documents, which have to be provided as per the specifications.
