By extending its Vice-Chancellor's Meritorious Scholarship Programme 2023, Deakin University, a Top 1% university globally and an established Australian higher education institution, continues to strengthen its commitment to Indian students. This project intends to help high-achieving Indian students become global citizens who can positively affect their communities back home.
The programme, which provides beneficiaries with 100% fee exemptions for the duration of their studies at a Deakin Campus in Victoria, Australia, has been expanded to include 10 scholarships, each worth more than INR 6 million. The application period for the July 2023 intake is currently open.

This project is a part of the university's 'Changing Lives' programme, which aims to make a significant difference in the lives of deserving students in India by providing chances for postgraduate and undergraduate courses in any discipline, with no time restriction on the study. The programme seeks to empower exceptional individuals who have exhibited outstanding academic performance and well-rounded achievements to study onshore at Deakin University in Australia.
The programme also aims to give back to India while assisting in the development of the knowledge and experience required to have a significant impact on society. It also has the potential to change the course of the lives of deserving students, enabling them to realise their academic and personal potential while also making a positive contribution to society.
While on campus, the scholars are also accepted into the Vice Chancellor's Professional Excellence Programme (VCPEP), which affords them the unmatched chance to represent the University and themselves in important forums alongside senior officials from the public and private sectors as well as from academia.

The Deakin Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship programme was launched in 2014, and 39 meritorious scholars have received the 100% Scholarship for their undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Meritorious students who aspire to pursue high-quality international education in developing academic areas such as athletics, engineering, psychology, and so on have gone on to successful careers in their chosen fields.
Other academic merit-based bursaries and scholarships available to Indian students at Deakin University include a 25% Merit Scholarship and a 20% Bursary for on-campus study in Australia.
