The University of South Florida, abbreviated as USF, is a public research university located in Tampa, Florida. Established in the year 1956, the University of South Florida is a member institution of the State University System of Florida. With an enrollment of over 50,000 students every year, it is the fourth largest public university in the state of Florida. There are three institutions under the USF system: USF Tampa, USF Sarasota-Manatee, and USF St. Petersburg. The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has separately accredited each of the three institutions. The University of South Florida has 14 colleges which offer more than 80 undergraduate programmes and more than 130 graduate, specialist, and doctoral-level degree programmes. As per the rankings of the National Science Foundation, USF has been given the 43rd position in the United States for the total research expenditure among all public and private universities.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The campus of the University of South Florida is spread over an area of 1,913 acres. It is well equipped with all the amenities for the personal and academic use of students. Under the Division of Student Affairs, the students of USF have been given access to involvement opportunities, recreational outlets, on-campus housing, health and wellness services, dining facilities, and much more. The courses offered at the University of South Florida are one of a kind and they prepare students for their professional ventures. Accomplishments & Alumni

The University of South Florida has several accomplishments to its name and the number is on a constant rise. Some major achievements of this university include Grassroots Leadership Program with more than 485 community graduates, Central American Youth Ambassadors (CAYA) and Cooperative Association of States for Scholarship (CASS) Programs-partnership with Georgetown University from which over 90 students from six Central American and Caribbean countries have graduated, etc. The University of South Florida has a long list of notable alumni who have become experts in their respective fields.

USF, Tampa International Scholarship 2021-22

International students as a freshman or transfer student are eligible to apply for a merit-based scholarship. Candidates who want to apply for the scholarship 

The scholarship can be applied from the USF Office of Admissions. The candidate must fill in an admission application and submit the same before the deadline date.  

Candidates can apply for the scholarship starting from the Fall semester 2021. The scholarship is accepted only for Fall semesters.

Freshman Scholarship

Freshman scholarship is awarded to students who qualify for it and is eligible to receive it within the defined timeline to receive the award. It is awarded to the student in the form of partial out of state tuition fee waiver. 

The amount of such scholarships varies depending on the credits of the course. The freshman  scholarship details for international is given below:

USF International Student Scholarship:

The eligibility criteria to receive USF International Student Scholarship are given below:

  • The candidate must have scored a minimum GPA of 3.30+.

  • He/ She must have scored 1180+ marks in SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing & Math only) or must have scored 24+ marks in ACT

Value: $4,000 (Up to $1,000 per year)

USF Green & Gold Scholars Award:

The eligibility criteria to receive USF Green & Gold Scholars Award are given below:

  • The candidate must have scored a minimum GPA of 3.50+.

  • He/ She must have scored 1210+ marks in SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing & Math only) or must have scored 25+ marks in ACT. 

Value: $24,000 (Up to $6,000 per year)

USF Green & Gold Directors Award:

The eligibility criteria to receive USF Green & Gold Directors Award are given below:

  • The candidate must have scored a minimum GPA of 3.70+.

  • He/ She must have scored 1280+ marks in SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing & Math only) or must have scored 27+ marks in ACT. 

Value: $36,000 (Up to $9,000 per year)

USF Green & Gold Presidential Award:

The eligibility criteria to receive USF Green & Gold Presidential Award are given below:

  • The candidate must have scored a minimum GPA of 3.90+.

  • He/ She must have scored 1340+ marks in SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing & Math only) or must have scored 29+ marks in ACT. 

Value: $48,000 (Up to $12,000 per year)

Transfer Scholarship

The transfer scholarship is highly competitive. It is awarded on the basis of various factors and meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee that the scholarship will be awarded. 

USF International Transfer Student Scholarship:

  • The candidate must have scored a minimum GPA of 3.50 or higher as cumulative in post-secondary education to avail this scholarship. 

The candidate must submit the scholarship application form by March 01 and complete the application by May 01.

Value: $2,000 ($500 per semester)
