In a bid to help students who are unable to travel abroad for higher education, a few Bengaluru Higher Educational Institutions have taken an inititaive to employ international faculty members to conduct online classes. With this, students will have access to coursecurriculum of international standard and it will also help in setting up a global platform to facilitate interaction between students and international faculty.
Three foreign faculty membershave been hired by Indian Institute of Fashion and Animation (IIFA) college to conduct online classes. The director of IIFA College, Yogesh J said that to address the queries of students about theirstudy abroadplans, which were halteddue to the pandemic, the institute decided to hire foreign faculties to help students. He also said that they are trying to ensure that the curriculum of online courses meets the needs of students and match the curriculum standard to that offoreign institutes.
Praveen Nandakumar, Co-Chairman, Bangalore School of Design has confirmed academic partnership with the College De Paris - Ecole Conte, France. He said that students are showing interest in choosing institutes and programmes that have an academic partnership like theirInternational diploma in Interior Design and Bachelors in Interior Architecture. The curriculum of these courses meet international standards and are offered by international faculty membersfrom London, France and Italy.

The Director of Lurnable Global Pathways (UK) Limited, Madhan says that the COVID-19 pandemic may have put a halt on the study abroad plans of many students, but 91% of them are still interested in travelling abroad as soon as the restrictions are lifted. He further said that while measures are beingtaken by the institutes to provide international study exposureby hiring foreign faculties, it is only a temporary solution and so many universities are trying to find measures to allow students to participate in on-campus classes, internationally.
While most of institutes have opted to hireforeign faculty membersto offer online courses, the Cambridge Group of Institutions has put 35 students and 10 teachers on a global interaction platform with international students and faculties, as confirmed by Nithin Mohan, the CEO of the institute. He added thatstudents and teachers come together online to participate and interact with students throughworkshops, projects and various academic activities. Thus, the engineering and management students area at an advantage as they are able tointeractwith foreign faculties and students without paying for it.
