The Ohio State Universityhas been ranked in the top 20 universities in the United States for hosting international students. The university ranks 19th in the nation in terms of the number of international students enrolled for higher education. In 2019, 7894 international students were enrolled at the Ohio State University. Ithas seen a 20% rise in the number of students who choose to continue the academic programme and practical training. The report has been issued by the Open Doors Report 2020, an annual survey published by IIE (the Institute of International Education)in partnership with the U.S. Department of States Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Gil Latz, the vice provost for global strategies and international affairs mentioned that Ohio State has made all efforts to provide opportunities to diverse students and engage themselves internationally. He further said that the universitys partnership with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion have extended their outreach and created new pathways and made it possible for students to afford education from abroad. The university is committed to providing enhanced programming and supports students to adapt to the new cultural environment and support them in academics.
International students at Ohio State University comes from across 100 countries and most of them belong to countries India, China, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan. The top fields of study offered at Ohio State University for international students include engineering, business, mathematics and statistics and social sciences.
