A record-breaking number of 82,000 US student visas have been issued to Indian studentsby the US Missions in India in 2022 - the highest number recorded in history compared to every other nation.A maximum number of qualified student visa applications were processed by the US missions in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai from the month of May to August.

This exemplifies that the United States continues to be the top choice for higher education for the majority of Indian families. Additionally, it emphasises the significant contributions Indian students make to both nations as they forge enduring relationships.
US Charge d'Affaires Patricia Lacina stated in a statement that American and Indian students preserve and deepen international connections through collaborating to address existing and upcoming global concerns.
Don Heflin, Minister Counselor for Consular Affairs, expressed his happiness to have contributed in any little way to assisting Indian students in pursuing a top-notch education. He gave his best wishes to students for their studies.
The US government places a high priority on international student mobility, and nowhere is this more evident than in India. According to the Open Doors report from 2021, there were 167,582 Indian students in the academic year 20202021, making up over 20% of all international students in the United States.
