US Northwood University will set up its new International Program Centre in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It will be in partnership with Western International College as its non-academic infrastructure provider.
The International Program Centre will offer undergraduate programs in the field of business administration with four majors in Marketing, Management, Finance and Hospitality and a minor in Business Analytics.
Assistant vice president and dean of International Programs Mamiko Reeves said that Northwood University was delighted to have joined hands with Western International College. It will help offer educational opportunities in RAKEZ to students from all over the world.
Reeves further added that this would further develop entrepreneurial leaders through their experiential learning and academic curricula. Students will be able to put their academic skills, problem-solving skills, critical thinking and business acumen into practice.
The partners mentioned that students will now get the same opportunities and degree issued at the Michigan campus at affordable prices.
Students will also be offered scholarships and options to study in the UAE for two years before moving to the US campus.
Northwood University is the first American university to be established in the RAKEZ Academic Zone ecosystem.
In 2018, Scotlands University of Stirling launched a campus in RAKEZ, with Planet One Education as its non-academic infrastructure provider.
Group CEO of RAKEZ Ramy Jallad said that they were confident that these programs will add value to their goal of improving the standard of education in Ras Al Khaimah, the UAE and the Gulf region.
Jallad further added that they were looking forward to entering more such strategic partnerships that would ensure advancement of students and professionals.
