ICAI Launches International Curriculum for CA Aspirants Abroad

In a bid to increase the global presence of Indian CA’s as a global brand, the Institute of Chartered Accountancy of India (ICAI) has announced the launch of an international curriculum for accountancy aspirants in foreign countries.

The Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, stated that the International Affair Policy and International Curriculum was launched as a measure to attain the global presence and recognition that ICAI is aiming for.

ICAI officials communicated that in line with their goals and objectives, the international curriculum has been designed to attract students from different parts of the world. ICAI is currently focusing on attracting international students from developing countries who are in their early economic development stages, thus qualifying the students to contribute to the growth of their respective countries.

In a statement released by Atul Kumar Gupta, the President of ICAI, the institute aims to meet the demand of internationalisation of higher education through its International Curriculum, as specified in the National Education Policy (NEP). Further, the curriculum would further the government’s cause in supporting developing nations and their economic growth through the provision of professional accountancy education, specifically helping those students who hail from countries without a national professional accountancy organisation such as ICAI.
