Four TSWREIS Students Ready to Fly to USA for Bachelors

In a first for TSWREIS history, four students from marginalised communities will be travelling abroad to pursue undergraduate studies at two of the top universities in the USA. With their exceptional performance in the SATs, they will also receive a 75% scholarship on tuition fees.

Four TSWREIS Students Ready to Fly to USA for Bachelors

Studying abroad has been a dream of many students from all sections of society. This dream of studying abroad has come true for four Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) students, who will travel abroad to pursue higher studies at US universities.

As per reports, Chaitanya from TSWREIS will be pursuing his undergraduate studies at Milwaukee School of Engineering in the US. Meanwhile, Harika, Swapnika and Lavanya will be pursuing a four-year undergraduate course at Iowa State University.

Reports reveal that it is for the first time that students from TSWREIS have been able to get admission to undergraduate courses offered by popular US universities. Previously, TSWREIS students were able to enrol in US universities under internships and fellowship programmes.

It was also highlighted that the students had been mentored at the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) camp, conducted by TSWREIS under Murthy Polasa, a Trainer and Counsellor and Gracena Prakash, Special Officer, Talent Management, TSWREIS and Coordinator. As a result of their exceptional performance in the SATs, the students were also able to earn a 75% scholarship on tuition fees.

In a statement made by TSWREIS, they highlighted that it was the first time in societys history that students from marginalised communities have been able to travel abroad for undergraduate studies.

Many universities in the US have become test-optional over the last two years, as a result of the pandemic shutting down test centre operations.
