Australia's Deakin University Offers 30% In-Country Bursary for Indian Students

Undergraduate applicants who have obtained 70% and above in 12th standard and graduate applicants who have achieved over 55% in their Bachelor's will be considered for the bursary. 

Australia's Deakin University Offers 30% In-Country Bursary for Indian Students

Deakin University, Australia has announced a 30% in-country bursary for Indian students enrolling for online studies before moving on-campus. The online studies should be in Trimester 3 beginning in November 2020 and Trimester 1 beginning in February 2021.

The university is offering high-quality education to international students amid the pandemic and based on the Australian government's latest advice, in-person classes will begin in July 2021.Undergraduate applicants who have obtained 70% and above in 12th standard and graduate applicants who have achieved over 55% in their Bachelor's will be considered eligible for the bursary.

Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University Professor Iain Martin, referring to the bursary, said that the pandemic has impacted the study abroad plans of many Indian students and this bursary will help them fulfil their dreams during these unprecedented times.

Professor Martin further added that the university is letting students start their degree in online mode at home through an innovative Cloud Campus. Although the number of applications for July 2020 intake has been affected by the pandemic, the university has successfully completed the intake and transitioning into a fully online mode of learning.

Deputy vice president (Global) and CEO (South Asia) Ravneet Pahwa said that this transition from online to on-campus programme or the Online to On-Campus (O2O) initiative will help students achieve their goals without any delays. In order to meet the current demand for certain fields of study post-COVID-19, the university will also be offering courses in areas including public health, health, data analytics, health economics, digital communication, software engineering, sports, and more.
