Delay in CBSE Board Exams 2021 May Affect Indian Students' Study Abroad Plans

The CBSE board examination 2021 has been delayed by two months. While the decision has been taken to compensate the loss that students had to face with the schools being shut down amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the delay is likely to affect students who are planning to pursue bachelor's degree programmes from foreign universities.

 

Delay in CBSE Board Exams 2021 May Affect Indian Students' Study Abroad Plans

The CBSE Class X and Class XII Board examination 2021 dates have been announced. This year, the exams are delayed by two months. The examinations will be held from May 4 to June 10 and the results will be declared by July 15, 2021.While the decision has been taken to compensate the loss that students hadto face with the schools being shut down amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the delay is likely to affect students who are planning to study abroad after schooling.

Indian students looking forward to taking admission at an undergraduate (UG) level will have to face uncertainties at some study abroad destinations due to delay in the declaration of the board exam results. Some of the popular study abroad destinations include theUK, USA, Canada, Australia, Germanyand New Zealand.The academic sessions in most of the universities in these countries begin in the month of July and students are usually expected to submit the documents and complete formalities by May.

The new academic calendar is definitely going to be challenging for students planning to study abroad. However,the educational consultancies are quite affirmativethat the countries like the UK, USA, Canada etc may give some relaxation to Indian students for the academic session that begins in the month of June/ July. One of the major reasons is that foreign students especially Indians are an important asset to the universities in these countries as they hugely impact the education sector of the country. Also, according to statistics, every yearmore than 1.90 Lakhs Indians students pursue higher education from universities in the US.
