The Australian National University is gearing up to offer 200 awards, which will be called the ANU Chancellors International Scholarship. Through this initiative, the University hopes to attract a diverse group of international students who can apply for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes on offer.
Sources state that the scholarship will be applicable for all international students planning to start their higher education from 1st September 2021.
The Australian National University will be offering awards under 6 different categories, which have been listed below.

ANU Chancellors International Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
All students interested in availing the scholarship programme must meet the ANU Chancellors Eligibility Criteria, which have been defined below.

Only International students who are living in Australia or outside.

International Students who have received a valid admission offer for an Undergraduate or Postgraduate programme, scheduled to start on September 2021. Graduate Certificate students are excluded from this.

The interested international students must ensure that they are self-funded and come under the full-fee paying student category. In other words, students who are not recipients of any other scholarship from the Government or any other organisation.

Region-Specific Requirements:

South Asia Region: Students must be residents of either India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives or Bhutan.

South-East Asia Region: Students must be residents of countries including Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Laos or Myanmar

Middle-East and Africa Region: Students must be residents of any country in Africa, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Yemen, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Palestine, Lebanon, Oman, Jordan, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Bahrain or Israel.

For the IB Scholarship, students must ensure that they have completed their International Baccalaureate degree.

Students from any discipline are eligible for the ANU Chancellors International Scholarship programme.

ANU Chancellors International Scholarship Selection Process
The University will shortlist applicants based on their academic merit and eligibility criteria met by a prospective student. However, there is a defined selection process for ANU Chancellors International Scholarships.
First, the qualifications that have been submitted by a candidate to the university will first be converted to a common scale. This will help in ranking applicants on level ground. Candidates who submitted multiple qualifications will be assessed as per the qualification that determined their admission to the university.
Secondly, the Grade Point Average or GPA on a scale of 7.0 will be used to determine the eligible postgraduate applicant. Meanwhile, an ATAR equivalent will be used for shortlisting the undergraduate applicants.

ANU Chancellors International Scholarship Application Process
If you are interested in availing this scholarship opportunity, then you need not apply for the ANY Chancellors International Scholarship. The university will automatically consider your application once you meet the eligibility criteria. In other words, each international applicant who sends in their application for a UG or PG programme at the Australian National University will be considered for the scholarship programme.
If an international applicant is selected for a programme at the university, they will also be informed of the scholarship award on the day they receive their admission offer letter. It should also be noted that in the case of Round 3, the scholarship offers may be transferred a few days later, as well.
Students will be required to accept the academic and the scholarship offers separately, therefore, follow the instructions provided in the offer letter from ANU.
