SUNY—Oswego is a public institution that was founded in 1861. SUNY—Oswego's ranking in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Universities North, #52 by the US News & World Report. Whilst it is accredited by the MSCHE, and its other programs have been accredited by most reputed accreditation such as the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET amongst the total 12 accreditation university has received.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Its old campus adjoining the lake is spread across around 700 scenic acres along the shore of Lake Ontario and the other campus; Syracuse campus is itself in downtown Central New York’s. The university offers close to 110+ majors, minors and graduate programs through its 4 colleges namely; College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, the School of Communication, Media and the Arts, and the School of Education. Overall, the campus consists of 58 buildings with classroom, laboratory, residential and athletic facilities with 200+ Registered Student Clubs and Organisations, 4,400 Capacity in 13 Campus Residence Halls. The most popular majors at SUNY--Oswego include: Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs; Biological and Biomedical Sciences; Education; and Health Professions and Related Programs.
Accomplishments & Alumni
Around 95% students are employed within the three months of completing the education. SUNY Oswego is rated at number #9 in “Best Colleges for the Money” in New York by US News ranking 2020. SUNY Oswego is one of the best comprehensive colleges in the country as besides academics it has more than 200 students clubs and organizations to provide a wholesome environment to students. The university provides ample exposure during the degree programs owing to the fact that around 800+ students are offered internships and co-ops annually. Some of the most popular alumni are Yvonne M. Spicer, Robert Natoli, Robin Curtis, Heraldo Muñoz, Jerry Seinfeld, Sanford Miller, Linda Cohn, Jon Kinnally, etc.
