After over half a year of turmoil, Indian students who returned from the war-afflicted Ukraine are still finding it difficult to return to their studies. However, many Russian universities have stepped up and offered assistance in this regard.
Previously, the NMC announced that the Ukraine-returned Indian medical students can complete their studies from foreign universities, except at medical colleges in India. With nearly 20,000 students uncertain about their future, Russian universities have been coming forward with options for the students to choose from.
The Russian House in the capital organised the Russian Education Fair 2022, with a help desk and stall set up to offer counselling services to the Ukraine-returned Indian students.

According to news reports, Russian universities and representatives are offering assistance to these Indian medical students. Additionally, special tuition fee discounts for these Indian medical students have been offered by Russian universities along with accommodation options in the situation.
A statement by the Director of Russian House Ossipov Oleg stated that Russia will “try to absorb all the students in the Russian universities as per criteria”, further highlighting the strong relationship between the two countries.

Mari State University announced 3,000 positions for Ukraine-returned Indian medical students. In a statement from the university, it was further revealed that these students would receive special discounts on tuition fees and accommodation. Moreover, the university will also work for special examinations and free-of-cost extra classes for students to catch up.
In relation to this, many universities in Ukraine have assured the students that they would receive their transcripts in digital format or as hard copies so that they can submit the same to other universities.
