Russian universities have long been offering the opportunity for Ukraine-returned Indian MBBS students to complete their medical courses in Russia. One more such university, Perm State Medical University, has also announced the offer for the transfer of Ukraine-returned Indian medical students.
According to the announcement, Perm State is ready to accept Indian MBBS students from various Ukrainian universities, in a bid to help them resume their studies. The NMC guidelines restrict Ukraine-returned Indian medical students from completing their studies in India.
Professor Natalia Vitalievna Minayeva, the Rector of Perm State Medical University, highlighted the university’s infrastructure and facilities which included “English-speaking professors and teachers, excellent infrastructure when it comes to laboratories, libraries, classrooms, simulation centres and other high-tech auditoriums and lecture halls for training.” In her statement, she also highlighted the “comfortable and secure” hostels for the students.
Over the years, Perm State Medical University has garnered a reputation as one of the renowned destinations for MBBS education in Russia. The university has been catering world-class MBBS education to 1,500+ Indian students presently and has been the pioneer in introducing the best facilities for students.
In addition to this, the university also prides itself on offering separate housing accommodation for girls, comfortable housing for all, with Indian food available in the mess. Perm State Medical University also claims to bring out Indian teachers and professors to help out students in preparing for FMGE/NExT. The university also boasts of offering a state-of-the-art simulation centre which houses life-sized robots, mannequins and more instruments for students to practice and test their skills and knowledge.
According to reports, Perm State Medical University is expecting its Indian student cohort to perform well in the FMGE exam scheduled in December 2022. The reports state that over 500 Indian students are expected to graduate in 2023, further serving in government and private hospitals across India. Moreover, the upcoming graduating batch, i.e. 2023 batch, is one of the biggest batches of Indian students graduating from a Russian government university, the reports stated.
Those interested in completing their studies at Perm State Medical University will be able to do so by submitting the necessary documents. According to reports, Perm State Medical University will be able to accommodate second to fifth-year students, provided they submit the necessary documents and highlight the subjects they have covered at their previous university. Currently, candidates are allowed to apply simply with their online transcripts, however, after admission, they will be asked to arrange the documents through the Indian embassy in Ukraine, for which sufficient time will be provided considering the situation in the country.
