In early May 2022, the National Medical Commission (NMC) was directed by the Supreme Court to frame a plan of action within two months to permit foreign universities medical students to finish their practical instruction in the medical colleges of India.

Students are demanding speedy solutions to their problems. Medical education in online mode is not considered enough by NMC to allow students to practice medicine. These students are about to finish their degrees but an uncertainty lurks regarding the acceptance of the degrees by Indian authorities.

The conditions are now regular and despite the dialogue between the governments, their return to China has been stalled. Students have been requesting the Indian government to orchestrate a solution but the Chinese government is not taking any initiative to bring back the foreign students.
