Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) is a private university, originally established in 1958 as Brevard Engineering College. The university was renamed in 1966 and founded by Dr. Jerome P. Keuper who envisioned it as a support to NASA. The university has been classified as R2: Doctoral Universities - High Research activity. Florida Tech has academic affiliations with Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida and Space Grant and has been accredited by SACS and ABET. The US News & World Report ranks it among the top 500 global universities, and among 200 top US universities. The university maintains a student faculty ratio of 15:1.
Florida Institute of Technology offers various Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in STEM courses, arts, business, and aviation courses. The university operates its academics through four colleges of Aeronautics, Engineering & Science, Business, and Psychology and Arts. There are 10,000 students actively enrolled at the university. Florida Tech also offers specialised degrees through 13 off campus sites apart from its main campus.
