Founded in 1911, California State University, Fresno is a public university present in the California state of the USA. It is commonly known as Fresno State or CSUF. Fresno State is accredited and reviewed by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). It is part of the California State University system that includes 23 campuses.The U.S. News & World Report ranked Fresno State at 196th position out of 389 U.S. national universities and 100th among the 209 Top B schools of the nation.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Situated in an urban setting, the campus size of California State University, Fresno is 363 acres.The university has a very lively campus. The university's unique facilities include an on-campus wine grape vineyards and an on-campus planetarium. California State University, Fresno also has a commercial winery, where wines made by its students have won more than 300 awards since 1997.The university follows a semester-based academic calendar. What began as a teachers college now offers programmes in over 100 areas of study. California State University, Fresno offers undergraduate programmes in over 60 areas of study. As for graduate programmes, candidates have more than 54 masters degree programmes to choose from.

COVID-19 Response
California State University, Fresno decided to offer the Fall term 2020 courses in virtual mode with limited in-person courses as directed by the California State University (CSU) system. The university is committed to provide quality education experience even through remote access while keeping students safe and protected during the pandemic. The latest updatefor 2021 session is as follows:
In September, the California State University Chancellors Office announced that the Spring 2021 courses will also remain mostly virtual.
The Virtual classes for Spring 2021 term commenced from January 21, 2021.
The university continues to monitor the spread of COVID19 and the situation and all the updates are being communicated to the CSU community on a regular basis.
As per the directives received by the CSU Chancellors Office, the university has also restricted all non-essential domestic and international travel till June, 2021.
Those who have to visit campus for unavoidable online classes will have to follow comprehensive campus plans prepared by a team of 19 members of students, faculty, staff and administrators.

California State University, Fresno offers a no. of scholarships in different categories based on various parameters like academic advisement, religion, ethnicity, major, Gender, Orientation and disability. There are more than 50 institute level scholarships that a student can explore and can apply. International students who are enrolled at Fresno State can apply for institutional scholarships.
Every year, Fresno State spends around 4.3 million dollars for scholarships and grants on incoming and continuing students. The scholarship is offered by various colleges, departments and organisations to eligible and deserving students.
There is no restriction on any students to apply for scholarships. The university encourages students of all backgrounds, interests, accomplishments and courses enrolled in to apply for scholarships.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
A new and continuing student enrolled for admission in the 2021/2022 academic session can apply for scholarship online. Before applying, the student must ensure to have received a Fresno State Student I.D. number and must have activated the MyFresnoState account with a valid email address.
Once the account has been activated, the student can log-in on MyFresnoState using a valid username and password and access the scholarship application for the current year.
Application Period
The scholarship application period for the 2021 academic session at Fresno State is October 1, 2020 and ends on March 2, 2021.
Specific deadline dates vary for various scholarships offered at Fresno State. Thus, students are highly recommended to submit the scholarship application as soon as possible.
