Founded in 1796, the University of Strathclyde is a leading technological university of the UK situated in Glasgow, Scotland. It is a public research university and recognised as the first technological university in the UK. Every year, around 23,000 students are enrolled in various courses at the university in a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Students have options to select from more than 400 undergraduate courses and postgraduate courses.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The university’s campus is located in the heart of the city of Glasgow. Students within the campus have wi-fi access, student’s email and software to help them in their studies. The university’s library is equipped with a large collection of study resources and computers for the users. The university offers a safe environment for students with expert security staff all around. All courses at the university are offered under four faculties namely Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Strathclyde Business Schools. The faculties are divided into multiple departments.

Every year, several undergraduate students of the University of Strathclyde secure a world-class entrepreneurial leadership programme, mostly from the engineering discipline. The university boasts to have one of the largest industry-sponsored scholarship portfolios of engineering faculty in the UK. A few companies associated with the University of Strathclyde assign them the opportunity to work on projects that could address the real challenges of the industry. Students and faculty members work together on these projects and it is an add on experience for them.
Student Diversity & Visiting Companies
Students at the University of Strathclyde come from across 100 countries. The university offers International Study Centre facilities to international students. The programmes that are offered include Undergraduate Foundation Programme, International Year One BBA and Pre-Masters Programme. These courses are designed to help the students enhance their academic skills and improve their English Language skills before getting enrolled in the degree programme. International students who do not meet the entry requirements can apply to the International Study Centre. The University of Strathclyde has links with a wide range of industrial partners who offer unique scholarships and placements to students. They also work closely with industry partners to provide financial support and offer innovative learning opportunities to students.
COVID-19 Response 2021
The UK Government has granted permission for on-campus teaching and learning for all students at higher educational institutes from May 17, 2021. Abiding by the guidelines, here are the latest updates on teaching and learning programmes for 2021/ 22 by the University of Strathclyde:
The University of Strathclyde will plan for in campus return of everyone in consultation with students, faculty, staff, student associations and recognised trade unions. Planning is required for assessing risk, providing a safe environment for work and maintaining social distancing and hygiene for the well-being of everyone.
The university will continue to follow public health guidelines and including the guidelines specific to laboratories and research facilities.
All safety measures will be followed at all times on campus like maintaining physical distance, using a face mask properly, maintaining personal hygiene etc.
The accommodation facilities are available for students. Those using the on-campus stay facilities must follow the safety guidelines and ensure the safety and health of everyone.
Students travelling from other countries will have to follow travel guidelines defined by the UK Government for the specific country.

The University of Strathclyde has announced a new scholarship scheme to assist students to meet their needs as a response to the COVID- 19 pandemic. Students enrolled in any level of studies be it Undergraduate, Taught Postgraduate and Research students and representing any nationality can apply for the scholarship. The scholarship will meet the short term needs of students and will cover the living costs of the candidate.
Eligibility Criteria
The minimum requirement that a candidate must meet to receive the scholarship is as follows:
Must be enrolled at the University of Strathclyde.
Must have fallen into financial hardship due to current Covid-19 pandemic
Must hot hold any other fund that is sufficient to meet the need.
Important Date
The registration process for scholarship began in March 2020 and the deadline to apply for the scholarship is March 31, 2021.

Numerous scholarships are offered to students who are enrolled in Strathclyde Business School at the university. Candidates who have applied for M.Sc programmes are automatically considered for the scholarship. There is no need to fill in an application for the scholarship.
The scholarship is offered on a rolling basis. Merit of the candidate is considered to offer the scholarship. The student must demonstrate excellent academic performance and extracurricular activities to be considered for the scholarship.
A total of 40 scholarships are offered under this category.
Value: £7000 amount is offered which covers a part of tuition fees.
It is also a merit-based scholarship offered to students enrolled in a full-time Master’s programme in Strathclyde Business School. Up to 25 scholarships are offered under this category. The value of the scholarship is £10,000 which covers a part of tuition fees.
Applicants must have a First Class degree result to be considered for the scholarship. They must have outstanding academic performances, show interest in extracurricular skills candidates who are willing to contribute in the academics, cultural and experiential profile of the programme cohort have an extra advantage to be considered for the scholarship.
The scholarship is offered to international students at Strathclyde Business School for undergraduate studies. The candidate must hold a conditional or unconditional offer for BA Business, BA International Business, Integrated Master International Business or Modern Languages. The applicant must also have outstanding academic performances to be considered for the scholarship.
A total of 5 scholarships are offered under this category. The value of the scholarship is £2,000 which covers part of the tuition fees.
Applicants must submit a short written submission. They must discuss the post they would like to hold in the organisation and how they can contribute to the organisation. All applications received are analysed by the Business School staff and 5 of the applicants are considered for the scholarship.
The scholarship is offered by the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Civil & Environmental department in collaboration with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. This scholarship is specially offered to Indian applicants who apply for postgraduate MSc taught programmes at the University of Strathclyde in session 2019/20. There is only one scholarship offered under this category.
The scholarship covers £4,000 of the tuition fees.
The scholarship is offered to Indian applicants who join one-year of full-time MSc programmes in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The candidate must apply in a full-time postgraduate taught course at the university.
Only one scholarship is offered under this category. The value of the scholarship is £6,000 and it covers a part of the tuition fees.
The candidate must apply for a scholarship through the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is August 31.
This scholarship is offered by the Faculty of Science Scotland to the Indian applicants who apply for MSc Advanced Computer Science with Big Data. The eligibility criteria to be considered for the scholarship are as follows:
The candidate must be an International fee-paying Indian applicant.
The candidate must have applied for the MSc Advanced Computer Science with Big Data programme.
He/ She must demonstrate outstanding academic performance.
Candidates with an interest in extra-curricular activities or professional experience will have an advantage over other candidates.
Candidates must be willing to contribute to the academics, cultural and experiential profile of the programme cohort.
Only one scholarship is offered under this category. The Value of the scholarship is £10,000.
The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow has announced a scholarship named Dean's International Excellence Award for students who will begin a full-time undergraduate course in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in September 2021.
Number of Scholarships: 20
Duration: Until the completion of the program
Subjects: Education, Law, Modern languages, English, Journalism, History, Physical activity for health, Creative writing, Social work and social policy, Politics, Psychology, Speech and language therapy.
Those applying for the scholarship must:
Begin studies in the UK by September/October 2021.
Enrol as an overseas fee-paying student.
Hold an offer to study a year one entry, full-time four-year undergraduate Humanities and Social Science course at the university.
Note: Those applying for year one entry two-year graduate entry LLB course will also be considered eligible.
Candidates with advanced entry to year two or year three entry will be offered £2,000, in compliance with the International Study Centre award.

Value: £3,500 per academic year to cover tuition fees
