Considering the limited number of medical seats in India and the fierce competition, applicants who miss out on a few marks usually look for options in other countries. A counselor at an overseas educational consultancy in Punjagutta said that Ukraine has proven to be one of the best destinations for students because of its lower learning costs and higher educational standards.

In Ukraine, tuition for MBBS courses ranges from $3,500 to $5,000 (approximately INR 2,62,500 - 3,75,500), whereas in private medical institutions in India it is between INR 7 lakh and INR 10 lakh.
