Universities in Ireland Offer Increased Opportunities to Indian Students

Universities in Ireland Offer Increased Opportunities to Indian Students

Ireland has become one of India's most popular study abroad locations. In recent years, a number of Irish higher education institutions have been active in India, gaining brand awareness among students and education stakeholders.

At the Irish ambassador's house in New Delhi, India, Robert Troy, minister of state for trade promotion, met with delegates from Maynooth University and Shannon Technological University.

Troy said it is amazing to see firsthand the commitment that Irish higher education institutions (HEIs) have made to India as he announced Maynooth University's new in-market presence and the inauguration of the Technological University of the Shannon in India.

Troy was thrilled to meet some of the local representatives of Irish higher education institutions, who play such a crucial role in advising prospective students and strengthening educational ties between our two nations.

Claire Doran, director of internationalization at Maynooth University, stated of the university's new representative in India, this exciting development builds on long-standing involvement in India and institutional commitment to offering an excellent experience for foreign students.

She said, by establishing a local presence, we will be able to improve support services to prospective students and education partners, which will include everything from boosting awareness of the programs to providing help upon arrival and orientation at the University.

Postgraduate students from India are the biggest national cohort on campus, and we value their contributions to the learning experience, student life, and the greater university community, she continued.

Maynooth Institution has identified India as a key market for increased international mobility to and from the university, as well as a solid talent pipeline to business locally, nationally, and worldwide.
