Applications to the master’s course in Mechatronics Engineering for the 2023 Fall season have been invited by Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). The programme is designed to be delivered as an MSc degree and as per requirements, students need to complete 8 courses.
As a relatively new engineering field, Mechatronics Engineering is a combination of various engineering subjects, such as electrical, computer and mechanical engineering. The combination helps create professionals capable of building robotic systems, steering systems, missile control, automatic production system, etc.
The Mechatronics Engineering programme at Ben-Gurion would help train students in the important advanced topics in robotics, control and estimation theories. Moreover, the programme will also include a research project leading to a full MSc thesis of a duration of 2 years, i.e. 4 semesters.
As per the press release published, the applications to the MSc in Mechatronics Engineering are being accepted for the Fall 2023 session. Upon completion of the application process, the university aims to start the courses in October this year. The press release also highlighted that Ben Gurion University will be accepting applications to the programme on a rolling basis, therefore, there is no set deadline for the programme currently.
Interested candidates must follow the guidelines and meet the specified admission requirements for MSc in Mechatronics Engineering at Ben Gurion University. Here are some of the eligibility criteria for the 2-year Msc programme.
Candidates should possess a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields from an accredited university.
They should also have achieved a GPA of 85/100, as per the Israeli grading system.
Candidates will also need to submit a TOEFL score of 85/120 or an equivalent score in a globally recognised English proficiency test. Those who pursued and received their BSc degree in an English-taught curriculum do not need to meet the language criteria.
The University recommends submitting a valid GRE score along with the application, however, candidates can apply without a GRE score as well.
International applicants are directed to connect with a potential advisor before applying for the MSc programme. The university suggests visiting the BGU Research Portal where applicants will be assigned pre-requisite courses based on their previous academic records.
