How to Select a GMAT Test Center?

Apart from remembering what not to bring to the test center, one should also keep the following considerations in mind while reserving a GMAT slot:

  • Near your House: Determine the location of the GMAT test centers and if it is conveniently accessible from your home. Whether it is easily cacheable from your house or place of stay or not. The most crucial factor is whether you will be able to arrive on time on exam day.

  • Easily Accessible: After determining the location of the exam centre, determine if it is easily accessible. If it is connected to various types of public transportation. 

  • The Test Center's Infrastructure: Several types of amenities are necessary to make the exam more convenient for test takers. Computers, mouse, and functional keyboards are provided at GMAT test centers.

  • Easy to Reach: After determining the exam centre's location, make sure it is simple to get there. Look whether it is connected to various public transportation systems. 
  • Located Near Your Home: Check whether the test location is close to your home and whether it is accessible from there easily. If it is not then you should make some additional arrangements one day in advance to reach there by car, taxi, etc. The most crucial factor is if you can get there on time on exam day.
  • The Infrastructure of the Testing Facility: To make the test convenient for test-takers, a specific set of facilities is needed. Look if the testing facility has a working keyboard, mouse, and PC.

Checking into a GMAT Test Center in India

If you have chosen to take your GMAT tests at one of the GMAT test centers, you will be required to follow certain regulations and guidelines. Here are the steps you need to take at a GMAT test center while checking in:

  • Present the required identification document.

  • Provide a palm vein scan.

  • Provide a digital signature, agreeing to the Test Taker Rules & Agreement.

  • Sit for a digital photograph

  • Begin the GMAT test

Identification Requirements for GMAT Test Centers

A valid identification document at the GMAT test centers is extremely important. Find what all documents are valid to be able to take the test:

  • Passport

  • Government-issued national/state identity card 

  • Government-issued driver’s license

  • The ID must be current (not expired) and legible

  • The confirmation email received from Pearson VUE or the appointment confirmation letter.

  • Light sweater or light non-outerwear jacket.

What is the validity of the GMAT score?

The validity of the GMAT score is five years. GMAT scores can be reported for up to ten years. However, there is no availability of GMAT scores older than ten years. Yes, you can take the GMAT Online Exam rather than at the GMAT test centre. The GMAT online exam is a remote proctored version of the GMAT exam that is meant to assist individuals to fulfil their application goals from the comfort of their own homes. Candidates can take the GMAT exam online, at a test centre, or both, as per their convenience.

How much time before the exam should I reach the GMAT test centre?

You should reach the GMAT test centre at least 30 minutes before your test starts. Reaching early at the exam centre is usually preferable as you get time to relax. The examination centre assigns you a time slot to report because they verify the appropriate documents and other exam-related things.

In which Indian cities is the GMAT exam conducted?

What IDs will be accepted at GMAT test centres?

IDs that will be accepted at GMAT test centres include passports, government-issued national/state identification cards and government-issued driver’s licences. In India, the Aadhar card will also be considered an acceptable ID for the online version of the GMAT.

What things can I carry to the GMAT test centres?
