Heidelberg University is situated in the Baden-Württemberg state of Germany. This public research university was established in 1386 which means this university has been standing tall in the world of education for over 630 years now. According to the QS World Ranking List of 2019, Heidelberg University is the 64th best university in the world.   Given the year of its establishment, it will not be of any surprise to know that the university has a very vast history of its own. For 633 years of its existence, Heidelberg University has experienced many ups and downs in connection with its scientific reputation. It has been managing to maintain its attractiveness to professors and students and its intellectual charisma with its excellent strategy that helps students thrive.

Infrastructure, Campus and Courses

Heidelberg University offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in various subjects of medicine, natural and life sciences, social sciences, law and humanities disciplines. Under the State Examination Programmes, Heidelberg University offers around 180 degree programmes with a unique variety of subject combinations. Other than these, Heidelberg University also offers PhD level and Interdisciplinary programmes. Training is also provided to the students studying at the Doctorate level of Heidelberg University.  The Heidelberg University campus encloses a total of 31 buildings out of which the Wickham Great Hall, France Residence Hall, Aigler Alumni Building, Bryenton Honors Centre (erstwhile President House) and 06 other are registered with the National Register of Historic Places.

People like Gustav Radbruch, Max Weber, Dmitri Mendeleev, Franz Boas etc are also enlisted in the long alumni list of Heidelberg University.

Students, not only from Germany and it’s surrounding countries, but also from all over the world across all continents apply for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered at Heidelberg University. Intake process opens up twice every year - Winter semester and Summer semester and the application process is determined by the nationality of the applicants and the programmes they have chosen. The students are also offered various scholarships which assist them in completing their studies from the University of Heidelberg.
