The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) was established in 1981 as the Nanyang Technological Institute (NTI) as a teaching institute in Singapore. Later on, in 1991 it merged with the National Institute of Education to form Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Today, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore is an autonomous public research-intensive global university holding an international reputation. It is one of the two largest public universities in Singapore. NTU is one of the best universities in the world for higher education. The QS World University ranking 2021 of the Nanyang Technological University( NTU) is 13.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The main campus of the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is situated in the western part of Singapore. It is a residential campus that expands over an area of 500 acres. The second campus of NTU, Singapore is located in the heart of Novena. The NTU campus is recognised among the top 15 most beautiful universities campuses in the world. The university campus houses more than 230 buildings and most of them are certified Green Mark Platinum. NTU offers internationally recognised quality education at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in different fields of study. COVID-19 Response
Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore is following a Responsible Community approach to ensure safety and prevention against the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a precautionary measure, the university has converted most of the lectures into online format. Certain parts of the course like lab sessions, seminars and tutorials are being conducted in-person. Classes being held in person with a limit of 50 people and are being conducted in large space areas to maintain social distancing. SafeEntry and QR code check-in/ out is mandatory for entry.
Students, faculty and staff are strictly required to follow safety measures like wearing a mask, maintain personal hygiene and follow physical distancing guidelines.
As residential and canteen facilities resume, campus residents are encouraged to keep the area clean and hygienic. Gathering at common areas like study area, recreation room, TV lounge is restricted and not more than 8 people can gather together.
Campus residents have been encouraged to work together to keep their respective residential hall precincts safe. Wherever possible, campus residents have been asked to keep their movement within their residential hall precinct, and minimise going to other residential precincts. They have been permitted to venture out only for essential goods and services.

Tuition Fee and Grants to international students at NTU is offered by the Ministry of Education, Singapore (MOE). It covers a substantial portion of the full tuition fees for eligible students. Students who receive the tuition grant are required to pay only the subsidized tuition fee at NTU.
Eligibility Criteria to Receive Tuition fees and Grants?
Students meeting the below-mentioned eligibility criteria are eligible to receive the tuition fees and grants from the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore:
Must be enrolled in a full- time undergraduate course.
The duration of the course must be three to four years.
Transfer or are readmitted within NTU or across local universities are also considered for the tuition fees and grants.

How to apply for Tuition Fees and Grants at NTU?
International students can mention the need for tuition fees and Grants at NTU in the online application form of admission. There is no separate application for it. Once the grant request is accepted, the applicant will have to accept the offer and further register for Tuition Grant. TG registration is done online on the official website of register for TG at the Ministry of Education, Singapore.
Nanyang Technological University Singapore offers scholarships to students who are enrolled in undergraduate courses. It is a competitive scholarship and offered to those who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements in the past as well as while studying at NTU. One must also have leadership qualities to receive the scholarship.
Students representing any nationality can receive the scholarship. The scholarship covers the tuition fee of all the years of studies and except Biomedical Sciences & Chinese Medicine Programme that cover only the first three years of study in NTU.
The scholarship is renewed if the candidate maintains a CGPA of 3.5 in the semester.
Value of Scholarship:
Full coverage of subsidised tuition fees
Living allowance of Singapore Dollar 6,500 per academic year.
Accommodation allowance of up to Singapore Dollar 2,000 per academic year Only applicable for those residing in NTU hostels.
Travel grant of up to Singapore Dollar 5,000 for an overseas programme. It is subject to terms and conditions in the Travel Grant Form.
Computer allowance of Singapore Dollar 1,750 (one-off).
How to Apply for the Nanyang Scholarship?
The scholarship application link can be found on the official website of NTU. To fill in the application form, one will have to log in to the portal using the admission application number and date of birth.
Hence, one must first apply for admission at NTU in the UG course before applying for the Nanyang Scholarship.
