Centre for Digital Media is a graduate institution established in 2007. It offers Masters in Digital Media degree in partnership with its founder and partner universities, University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr University and British Columbia Institute of Technology. The institution is recognised as a multidisciplinary graduate offerer and has industrial affiliations with companies such as Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Mozilla, Autodesk, etc. The institution also has project based partnerships with 20 Year Media, AMPD, Archiact, Blackbird Interactive, Canadian Blood Services, CanHealth International, Dr. David Kauffmann, Major Tom, and many other industrial presences.

Infrastructure, Campus and Courses

CDM campus comprises two buildings situated in Great Northern Way Campus and is equipped with world class amenities. CDM 685 is laced with academic destinations and residential facilities and CDM 577 houses studios, hangar, labs and other co-curricular activity spaces. The spaces and studios are constantly in step with the technological advancement (Dolby 5.1) and the program includes 5 courses. In addition to courses MDM is equipped with individual project assignments for mid-semesters and internships for last semester.

Accomplishments and Alumni

The institute has to its credit both students and partner based accomplishments. The institute provides to its students a chance to do internships in one out of twelve options which are available in China, Spain, U.S. and Canada. The student projects include Neuroanatomy (Brain Bros), Fleet Information into Actionable Data (Krypto Klawz), Digital Art Installation (Digital Circus) and Language Teaching App (Immersio). Some of the notable alumni of the college include individuals Archana Ananathanarayan, Eric Delgado, Eric Boyd and startups Walkies Lab, Quupe, Neartuit, RunGo, V7 Entertainment and others.

Student Diversity and Visiting Companies

Over 60% of the total population of students is composed of international students who come from very diverse backgrounds. The institute through its administration ensures that the lives and cross-cultural integrity of these students remain explorable. There is career support from the institute as it is partnered with a lot of industrial giants, the recruitment is easily approachable, and moreover the strong practical base of the program ensures success even in startups. 95% of alumni are in active employment.
