Queens College is an educational institution founded in 1937. The college is a part of the City University of New York (CUNY). It is the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The institution was included in the Princeton Review's first-ever Guide to 322 Green Colleges. According to US News and World Report Edition 2020, Queens College is ranked #52 among best regional universities North rankings.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The college maintains a beautiful campus with a historic building and is spread over an area of 80 acres. The campus consists of modern laboratories, a stunning music building, and the 6-storey Rosenthal Library. Queens College offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs, as well as advanced certificate courses. Students interested in mathematics can apply for a program called TIME 2000. The academic structure of the college has 4 major divisions, including arts and humanities, social science, mathematics, and natural science and education. Queens College offers educational programs in science and liberal arts under the supervision of highly qualified faculty members.
Accomplishments & Alumni
Queens College enjoys a national reputation when it comes to offering education in liberal arts and sciences and pre-professional programs. The institution has been cited as a “Best Value” college in the Princeton Review for 28 consecutive years. The College participates in NCAA Division II sports. Queens College has some of the best sports facilities in the city. Many of Queens’ graduates are celebrated names in the entertainment industry. And, these include Jerry Seinfeld (actor and comedian), Jon Favreau (actor and director of Iron Man & Iron Man 2), Adrien Brody (Academy award-winning actor) and Joy Behar (comedian and co-host of The View)

CUNY Queens College has a positive gender ratio with 55% women and 45% men in the undergraduate course. With 80% of the students in the age range of 18-30 years, Queens College is a place for young people. Approximately 1000 international students enrolled for various courses in 2018, of which roughly 900 pursued an undergraduate degree. The majority of the students belonged to China, South Korea, and India. Prominent organizations where the alumni work includes Northwell Health, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Citi, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Morgan Stanley, PwC, Bank of America, etc.
