Affiliated with the Churches of Christ, Pepperdine University is a private research university Founded by entrepreneur George Pepperdine in South Los Angeles in 1937, which expanded to Malibu in 1972. With its main campus near Malibu, California, the institution was announced as Pepperdine University on 1st January 1971. As per the 2020 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, Pepperdine University ranked #50 on an Overall evaluation, #24 in Best Colleges for Veterans and #20 in Best Undergraduate Teaching. In 2018, U.S. News & World Report 2020 ranked Pepperdine's business school 65th out of 437 business programs in the United States. Forbes magazine has ranked the Graziadio School's Fully Employed MBA programs in the world's Top 20 based on ROI.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Pepperdine University offers 73-degree programmes across 5 schools in various fields of study like law, sciences, business, accounts, advertising, history, psychology, media, engineering,management, education and philosophy. Pepperdine's Malibu campus is situated on 830 acres (340 ha) of the Santa Monica Mountains, widely considered one of the most beautiful college campuses in the world in terms of architecture and scenery. The infrastructure is designed in the Mediterranean Revival Style with white stucco walls, red tile roofs, and large tinted windows. Pepperdine University has six campuses across the U.S. Located in the foothills of Santa Monica Mountains, whereas the university's Malibu campus is the main campus. The university also offers study abroad and student exchange programmes.

Accomplishments & Alumni

With more than 110,000 graduates as a part of the universitys huge alumni network, some of the famous Alumni include, Sarah Attar, the first female Olympian from Saudi Arabia, Michelle Fields, a well-known political journalist, Colleen Graff, who has served as State for Public Diplomacy's Deputy Assistant Secretary and James Hahn, who has served as Los Angeles' mayor. In 2019, the American Council of Trustees and Alumni included Pepperdine in its What Will They Learn? study, which is an annual evaluation system of universities. The study assigns a letter grade to 1,100+ universities based on how many, out of the seven core subjects are required: composition, literature, American history, economics, foreign language, mathematics and science. Pepperdine was one of 23 schools to receive an "A" grade, which is assigned to schools that include at least six of the seven designated subjects in their core curriculum

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

Over 3,600+ were at the undergraduate and 4,300+ were at the graduate and professional levels, out of the total 7,900+ student enrollments at Pepperdine's Fall 2018 intake. Over 80% of the student population belongs to either the same state or from other states in the US, 20% of the students belong to International Countries. With the diverse population of students and an excellent team of faculty members, the university has a student-faculty ratio of 12:1. Companies like Ernst and Young, Wells fargo, Microsoft, Google, Amazon etc. hire graduates from Pepperdine.
