The Indiana Institute of Technology (Indiana Tech) is a private university in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was founded in 1930 as Indiana Technical College by John A. Kalbfleisch, who was also the school's first president. Indiana Tech is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The biomedical, mechanical, and electrical engineering programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The College of Business is accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). The health information technology program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Coming to the ranking, Indiana Institute of Technology is ranked 117-153, in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Universities Midwest by the US News 2020.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The 97-acre campus university has five colleges. Indiana Tech specializes in career-oriented degree programs in business, engineering, computer science, education, criminal justice and others. Along with semester-long class format, Indiana Tech also offers accelerated degree programs and online programs via its College of Professional Studies. Beyond its main campus in Fort Wayne, Indiana Tech maintains regional classroom and enrollment centres in 13 locations, including Elkhart, Evansville, Fishers, Greenwood, Huntington, Indianapolis, Jeffersonville, Kendallville, Mishawaka, Munster and Warsaw in Indiana; and Louisville and Fort Wright in Kentucky. Indiana Tech also has two enrollment centers in the Chicago area, located in Naperville and Wilmette, Illinois. Popular majors include Business Administration and Management, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Environmental / Environmental Health Engineering, and Psychology.

Indiana Tech fields eleven men's and eleven ladies' groups that participate in the NAIA, where Indiana Tech represents Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference for all intercollegiate games. Students at Indiana Tech are primarily White with a significant Black population. The school has a very high cultural diversity welcoming a large number of international students each year. The institution has positive gender diversity with 62% women and 38% men at the undergraduate level. Only 58% of students belong to Indiana and about 500 international students representing 25 countries also study at Indiana Tech. Considering this university is placed at #531 nationwide in overall diversity.
