Founded as Columbus College in 1958,  Columbus State University is a public university in Columbus, Georgia, administered by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Today, the university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in more than ninety academic disciplines. The University has more than 10 accreditations, specific to some of the niche programs. The university is ranked >600 among US colleges by Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings 2020.
CSU has ranked among the nation's 100 Most Affordable Colleges and Universities. It has also been ranked in the 30 Best Online Master's Degrees in Science Education in the US by US News 2020.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Located in suburban downtown Columbus Georgia, Columbus State University's main campus is 132-acre. There is also a satellite campus located in Fort Benning, Georgia at the southern edge of the city.  CSU is part of the University System of Georgia, just 100 miles southwest of Atlanta, enrolling almost 8,500 students in 46 undergraduate and 42 graduate degree programs, from online degrees to a doctorate in education.  Popular majors at the university include Health Professions and Related Programs, Business, Management, Marketing, Computer, and Information Sciences, Education and Visual and Performing Arts.

Accomplishments & Alumni

In 2008, Departments and Programmes from the University System of Georgia received the world-renowned Schwob School of Music received the Regents Teaching Excellence Award. The university operates three other educational outreach centers - the Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center, the Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians and the Coca-Cola Space Science Center - enlarge CSU's reputation as a teaching university, offering learning opportunities for students as well as the public. The Coca-Cola Space Science Center hosts student and public programs which also includes the Omnisphere Theater (a planetarium) and the Mead Observatory. Some of the notable alumni of CSU are Ruslan Apostolov, Cale Dodds, Joni Ernst, and many others.

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

Uinvolve is a unique organization in CSU where everyone can discover or explore unique opportunities. CSUinvolve has over 100 active Registered Student Organizations (RSO) to join on the Columbus State University campus. Apart from co-educational intramural and recreational programs, students can participate in multiple chartered student groups, sororities, fraternities, honor societies, club sports, and special-interest clubs. There is also a Center for Career Development, where students can take advice from career development specialists focused on providing relevant career-related information to help students understand their knowledge, skills, and interests as it relates to academic and career goals. This all encourages students to practice and hone the essential skills necessary for job preparation and career readiness. 

Career services include job shadowing and externship opportunities are also facilitated by the CSU. Top organizations in the area are Ranstaad, Delta Airlines, Arby’s and Cox media group among many others.
