The University of Liverpool is one of the most famous and prestigious universities in Liverpool, England. It is a public university which was initially founded as a college in the year 1881. The University of Liverpool gained its royal charter in 1903 and was able to start awarding degrees after that. It is also known to be one of the six original 'red brick' civic universities. The university consists of three faculties which are organised into 35 departments and schools. The University of Liverpool has many academic affiliations like those with the Russell Group, EUA, AACSB, N8 Group, NWUA, EASN, CDIO, and Universities UK. In fact, it is a founding member of the Russell Group and the N8 Group for research collaboration.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The University of Liverpool is located on a single urban campus which occupies an area of 100 acres. There are 192 non-residential buildings on the university campus which house 114 teaching areas, 69 lecture theatres, and research facilities. The main campus of the University of Liverpool is divided into three faculties. These faculties are Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Life Sciences, and Science and Engineering. Around 230 degree courses are offered at the University of Liverpool across 103 subjects. The Wirral Peninsula contains the Ness Botanical Gardens and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (Leahurst). The university also had a marine biology research station earlier but it was closed in 2006. The University of Liverpool has 51 residential buildings that are situated on or near the campus and provide a total of 3,385 rooms for students on a catered or self-catering basis. The university's original red brick building, the Victoria Building, which is a major landmark, has recently been restored as the Victoria Gallery and Museum.

The University of Liverpool is likely to welcome students on campus after the UK Government has announced on campus return of students for in-person learning and teaching. Until then, the students can explore the university online and sign up to the Undergraduate Virtual Open Week.
Currently, staff and students of the University of Liverpool studying and working on campus are required to take the regular quick-results lateral flow tests.
The university also offers facilities for COVID testing of students and staff for free. The results will also be delivered within 24 hours.
Strict social distancing measures have been implemented such as social distancing markers and study spaces, teaching schedules to reduce foot traffic, availability of two free cloth face masks and much more. Library facilities will be available, however, on a restricted basis.
