Ukraine Student Visa Process

Indian students who want to pursue medical courses from Ukraine will have to acquire a student visa by contacting the Ukraine Embassy in India in order to travel there and start their education. Following are the steps to obtain Ukraine student visa:

Step 1 

The student has to fill the VISA application form carefully, on the very first page of the VISA application, the student has to add in personal details like :

  • Name 
  • Date of Birth 
  • Place of Birth
  • Country of Birbe made
  • Passport Details 
  • Details of Passport Issuing Authorities 
  • Address 
  • Purpose of Travel 

The VISA application can be made both online and offline, depending upon the choice of the applicant. But according to the records, the offline application is preferred more by the VISA candidates.  

Step 2 

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine offers three types of VISA in general to all people - Type B or Transit VISA, Type C or Short Term VISA and Type D or Long term VISA, according to their needs and duration of stay in Ukraine. Indian students have to apply for the long term or Type D VISA as the MBBS programme is approximately 6 years long and PG courses are 2 - 3 years long.

Step 3 

The VISA application can be submitted at Ukraine’s VISA application centres in the following states New Delhi, Bengaluru, Calcutta, Mumbai and Chennai in India. Along with the set of required documents in patterns required by the Embassy. A non- refundable fee has to be paid by the student depending upon the mode of application. If the student has concerned a counsellor for the same, then the fee of the counsellor will be included in the final fee.  

Step 4 

The Embassy of Ukraine may take up to 30 days to evaluate the application and documents, the applicant will be informed about their VISA status either by call or mail. If all the documents of the applicant are correct the VISA arrival will take less time. 

Step 5

As the student receives the Student VISA of Ukraine, he/she can book tickets to Ukraine and be ready for the study abroad journey. The student must make sure that the university knows about the arrival beforehand, he/she must send the following details to the university:

  • Flight Number 
  • Flight Departure Time 
  • Flight Arrival Time 
  • VISA Details 
  • Passport number 

The student will be allowed to exit the airport only when someone from the university has come to pick him/her up, thus the university must be informed on time.

Documents Required for Ukraine Student VISA

In order to apply for the Ukraine student visa, students will need some documents in addition to the original admission letter offered by the respective university as proof of enrolment. Check out the list of documents required for student visa below:

Photographs 

The student will require four passport size photographs to apply for the Ukraine Student VISA with a white background, without spectacles and 80% face. 

Invitation Letter from University 

When the student gets accepted by the Ukraine Universities, they receive an invitation letter certified by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine either on E-mail or through the courier facility. This letter is an essential part of the Ukraine Student VISA application and must be attached along with other VISA documents. 

Fee Receipt from the University 

If the student has paid the first year fee to the university, they must attach the copy of receipt received by the university. They can also attach the receipt of the payment made to request the invitation letter. 

Academic Certificates

The student has to attach certified and translated copies of all the previous academic certificates and mark-sheet while applying for a Ukraine Student VISA. This can be done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India or by the Embassy of Ukraine present in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. Undergraduate students would require class 10th and 12th passing certificates and mark sheets, whereas, the graduate students would require Bachelors degree passing certificate and year-wise transcripts. 

Affidavit with Bank Statement

Affidavit of support and bank statement of the guardian or parents of the student is also required while applying for the VISA, make sure the bank statement is not older than 2 weeks. 

Police Clearance Certificate

This certificate can easily be issued by a local police station in your area, provided the student has submitted all the required documents for it on time.  

Medical Certificates

The student has to undergo the following medical tests: 

  • HIV 
  • Stool Test 
  • Urine Test 
  • X-Ray 
  • Hepatitis B 

The final report of these tests has to be attached along with other required documents. 

NEET Score 

To pursue MBBS in Ukraine, the students have to qualify NEET examination and attach the scorecard in the VISA application. Apart from this, there are no entrance exams or language test certification that the student has to go through to study in Ukraine. 

Bank Account Balance

The student’s bank account must have at least 5 to 6 lakh Indian Rupees in it, one-day old fund is accepted while applying for Ukraine Student VISA.

*These documents must be translated in either Ukrainian or Russian language and legalized from the ministry of foreign affairs in India. Only then can the candidates apply for a student visa at the Ukraine Embassy.
