Job Opportunities in Ukraine after MBBS

Candidates can look for job opportunities in Ukraine as doctors, and MD (Doctor of Medicine) is the preferred degree to get a job. After completing the 6 years of medical programme from MBBS universities in Ukraine, candidates are awarded with the MD degree, which is equivalent to MBBS in India and is recognised by the Medical Council of India. Since the degrees are recognised by MCI, students can also look for job options in India after completing their coursework and qualifying the screening test.

After spending 6 years to study MBBS in Ukraine, the second largest country in Europe, one finds themself blended-in with its society and vibrant culture. Ukraine is known to be a land of open-minded and warm-hearted people. Hence, it is not really surprising that when one visits Ukraine as a student, one is tempted to extend their stay by finding work and gaining full-time employment in the country.

Part-Time Jobs in Ukraine after MBBS 

One can find plenty of semi-skilled and unskilled part-time jobs in Ukraine. It is a great way to cover living expenses, while also giving a chance to earn valuable experience and meet new people. It is also a great orientation of the culture and lifestyle of the community living around you.

It is not legal to work on a temporary residency permit but the employer and one’s place of study can help get the necessary permits to start working part time. However, it is worth pointing out that since the tuition fees and cost of living is quite affordable and one can, with almost 100% certainty, hope to find a job after they get their degree, many MBBS students opt to give complete focus to their studies instead.

Work Permit in Ukraine after MBBS

A temporary residence permit (which every international student usually has) is necessary to get a work permit in Ukraine after MBBS. While the labour laws are quite liberal towards foreign employees, it is important to note that only an employer can file for a work permit on behalf of their employees. 

If a person intends to settle in Ukraine, it is advisable to get a permanent residency permit. PR holders do not need a work permit to be employed in Ukraine.

Moving Back to India after Completing MBBS

MBBS from Ukraine medical universities is recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and graduates can easily find work in India after completing their MBBS degree from Ukraine. One only has to clear the NEET-PG exam, which is proposed to soon be replaced by a common entrance exam for medical aspirants in India — National Exit Test (NEXT).

Working Abroad Post Completion of MBBS in Ukraine

Many international organisations such as WHO, FAIMER, GMC, etc. have given recognition to Ukranian MD degrees, which is why doctors who have graduated from Ukraine can be found all around the globe. Many Ukrainians, however, prefer to move close to their homeland — to countries such as Russia, Lithuania and Poland.
